So hey there! My name is Molly and I play clarinet, tenor sax, string bass, and a bit of piano! I am co-author of the Band Geek Blog to share what I know best: Sectional Stereotypes and later, a few band jokes.
Today's sectional stereotype: The Clarinet Section.
Clarinet players are the most competitive of all the musicians. This is because if one is first chair clarinet, one gets to walk out on stage at the very beginning of the concert and tune the whole band!! Because of this, the clarinetists try very hard to be better than the others. Trust me, I would know. I am a die-hard clarinetist. Clarinets are also known for hanging out mostly with brass, percussion, or even string players, as they are not seen as a threat.
Now for a trio of band jokes:
What happens when a tuba falls out of a window and lands on a police officer?
A flat major!!!!!
How many clarinet players does it take to change a lightbulb?
Just one, but they will go through all the bulbs in the box before they choose the right one!!!!
What do you have when there are 100 bad percussionists up to their shoulders in concrete?
Not enough concrete!!!!!
